Moms love flowers. It is a known fact. Mom’s also love gifts from their kids. I mean, who wouldn’t?! As you probably are aware, when you combine these two things, Moms love it!

We have compiled a list of some great flower ideas for Mother’s Day.

Have a look.

Send Her a Wreath.

Sending your mom a wreath is a great idea for Mother’s Day. Wreaths are not just for Christmas. There are so many different styles out there.

One of the best styles for Mother’s Day would have to be a wreath with a wire ring for the base. This is just such an elegant-looking wreath (and is so far from the holiday version) that it would be a perfect gift for Mother’s Day.

We suggest getting it in a neutral color palette if you are not sure what color your mother would want. If you know her favorite color, then you can request that the florist add some pieces of florals of that color to bring that in. This is a nice thoughtful way to show that you care and pay attention.

If you are feeling wild, just request one with all of her favorite colors as the dominant theme.

Send Her Dried Flowers.

Dried flowers are the perfect gift for Mother’s Day. Not only are dried flowers beautiful, but they also last a very long time. We offer a few different color palettes and size options of dried florals that you can ship to your mom today. Check Out our Shop Page

Think of this arrangement as a lasting element for a room, a nook, or a side table. Since they are preserved, it will be a permanent fixture. It will not wilt. They also look great on a mantle of a fireplace or in an office. The best part is, they have zero maintenance.

We recommend the Medium Green or Large Neutral for a mother’s day gift because it is a safe bet. Our pink options are always a good choice as well if your mom loves a pop of color.

Get Her an Ombre Style Bouquet or Arrangement.

Reach out to your local florist and ask for an ombre style arrangement for your mom. This is a popular style of floral arrangement and always makes an impact. Since they can be so stunning, we think they are a great idea for a gift for Mother’s Day. It is something unique that she will not forget any time soon.

An ombre style of arrangement focuses less on types of flowers and all on the color of the arrangement. An ombre is a fade from one color to another, like the popular ombre hairstyle. You can fade almost any color to any other in the world of flowers, but we think some of the most stunning is a light pink to orange to red. You can ask for almost any color. Some of the coolest go from white to a color, like white to orange.

Call your local florist today and ask if they can make it happen for you and ask what kind of flowers they have to do the job.

Gift Her A Bud Vase Arrangement Instead of an Arrangement.

Another great idea for Mother’s Day flowers is to get her a bunch of bud vases with florals instead of one large arrangement. This can be done for a tablescape (like the example in the image above), or it can be a simple cluster for a dining table or another spot in the home.

This is a fun project that you can do on your own. You can buy a bud vase assortment from Amazon (affiliate link to Amazon), then get some flowers from your local shop, or even grocery store.

Once you have the flowers, you can process them and then put them into the bud vases. Try to think about them each having a different contrasting role. An example of this would be like the following: vase A has small flowers, Vase B has tall flowers, and Vase C has only red flowers, and Vase D has only greenery. When you organize them into different categories like that, it gives some underlying structure to your bud vases and will add to the cohesion of the design when you place them together.

Or you can simply just go wild, have fun, and do whatever you want. Either way, when you put your bud vases together, they will look great! There are many different creative ways to do this. Use your imagination!

If you would like to learn more about how to do this, you can check out our free guide on how we created the scene in the image above. We hope you love it.

Throw Her a Dinner or Brunch With a Flower Theme.

Another great flower idea for Mother’s Day is to throw her dinner or brunch that is flower-themed. Examples of this would be a sunflower-infused brunch. Or a dinner filled with peonies. Try to come up with ways to make the event pop with the theme. You could make drinks that match the colors of the flowers, or even food items such as desserts that have the same color as the flowers. There are so many creative ways to try to tie it in. You could even choose a location that is fitting.

For example, you could do a rose-themed Mother’s Day event, with the flower as the main theme on the table, rose water drinks, and rose garnish on top of a dessert. That sounds awesome to me!

The opportunities are endless. Roses might be a little too romantic for Mother’s Day, but you get my drift. This could be a totally fun idea, especially when you pair it with your Mom’s favorite flower or color.

Take Her on a Local Flower Farm or Garden Tour

Lastly, you could take your Mom on a tour of a local flower farm or garden for Mother’s Day. This is particularly fun if they offer any kind of food items to snack on as your tour the grounds.

Spend time with your mom learning about all the flowers they grow and seeing the beauty of nature will make a great memory for years to come.

Afterward, grab some lunch. If they offer it on the farm, even better!
